Surfing has always been something that blew my mind. This obviously isn’t a video of me, but man, what an experience this morning surfing in the Indian Ocean just outside of Cape Town, South Africa. Can’t say I’m very good 😂, but certainly a day I won’t soon forget!

Had someone bring up to me the other day the incredible opportunities this life and this camera have taken me on; that if the version of myself who started this journey could see it, they’d never believe it. On the cusp of an exciting new adventure, can’t help but look back on the last year that was!

It is with tremendous sadness we as a family announce the passing of my Grandmother, Lorraine Mushmanski, after a long fight with cancer. Given a few months to live, she fought courageously into the next year well beyond the timeline, witnessing my sister’s marriage and many other family milestones in the process, and I am thankful for that time! She was an incredible woman, strong in her convictions and stronger in her ability to fight and care for those around her. She was one of my best friends, and I will miss our conversations deeply - even if they usually ended in a hatred for my tattoos and a desire for me to make smarter and safer life choices 😂. She was a force, one of the strongest women I ever met, and I miss her deeply already.

She joins her Husband, John, my mother Laurie, and many other dear friends and family in the place in the clouds, waiting for us to catch up when we meet again. In the meantime, we will do our best to make her proud.

Rest easy, Momma Mush, until we meet again #fvckcancer
